BASIS.ed Texas schools are open enrollment, tuition-free public charter schools serving grades K–12 across five schools in the San Antonio area: BASIS San Antonio - Northeast Campus (5-12), BASIS San Antonio - Shavano Campus (6-12), BASIS San Antonio Primary - Medical Center (K-5), BASIS San Antonio Primary - North Central (K-5), BASIS San Antonio Primary Northeast (K-4).
BASIS offers students a well-balanced education that allows them to achieve at internationally competitive levels. Taught by Subject Expert Teachers, the BASIS Curriculum model supports an academic program based on the College Board’s Advanced Placement (AP) standards. It encourages self-motivation and hard work, helps students master rigorous content, and thoroughly prepares them for college. BASIS students have been recognized as the state’s top performers on the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR), setting the standard for academic achievement in Bexar County.
The BASIS Shavano Class of 2021 received an average SAT score of 1329 (the national average was 1060) and average ACT score of 31.2 (the national average was 20.3). The Class of 2021 had an 100% four-year college acceptance rate. Students were accepting to prestigious schools across the country including American University, Auburn University, Berkley College of Music, Boston University, California Institute of Technology, Cornell University, Duke University, Georgetown University, Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northeastern University, Northwestern University, Rice University, Standford University, and University of Pennsylvania.
